Gamer of the Week: Mubeen Gaffoor

MubeenToday’s gamer is a FIFA fanatic. If they made a breakfast cereal for the game, we reckon he’d buy it. His list of achievements in tournaments are many, including a first place finish in his group on the Do Gaming League. You can see all his recent successes below, but first, let’s get to know the man known as MOBiZillA a little better.

Go ahead.  Introduce yourself.  Don’t be shy.

Hi I’m Mubeen… and I’m a FIFAholic.

What’s you platform of choice?  Why?

PS3, just always has been that way. Had a PS1, skipped out on PS2 because at the time I was a PC gamer. When all the next-gen announcements started happening I got all hyped up about consoles again. Bought the PS3 when it launched and never looked back. Xbox is pretty much the same thing but I guess my hands are just moulded to fit a PlayStation controller so it was always going to be my console of choice… Really amped for PS4 as well.

Can you remember the first time you ‘gamed’?

The first memory I can recall of gaming is my parents unwrapping a Nintendo console in our living room and all of us playing Circus Charlie. Most of my gaming experiences as a child was through Arcades. Everybody getting together at the shops and having a go at each other in Street Fighter!

How long have you been gaming?

Since I could throw a 20 cent coin into an arcade machine.

When do you think you’ll stop gaming?

Probably never, as time goes on the time I have available for gaming isn’t always as much as I’d like, but I’ll never ever not get excited for the next big game coming out or next amazing console.

Are you a serious gamer?  Or do you enjoy a laugh?

I think I’m a bit of both, usually during random gaming sessions with buddies I like to crack a few jokes, a bit of trash talking. It’s great to have a few mates over and just have a great game day. I do have a competitive instinct though so when it comes to competitive gaming I tend to get a bit serious depending on whether I’m losing or winning at the time.

Single player or multiplayer?

Multiplayer definitely because of my competitive instinct. But every now and then I find a Single player game that just has the most entertaining story and gaming experience and I just never want to stop playing it.

Is playing online important to you?

Yes, I could never imagine it any other way. Gaming has evolved so drastically from what it used to be but it’s definitely going in the right direction. Social gaming is the best way too experience games.

Are you a member of a clan?  Who are they and why?

I am yes, ConsoleKingz. We’re a fairly new clan but we’re off to a great start so far. We’re a FIFA clan but there are many of us who have other gaming skills. I joined the clan because even though competitive FIFA is more of a single player experience, having a team atmosphere when entering tournaments is great.

Favourite game currently?

More like always! It’s FIFA. FIFA 98 was the game that got me hooked and I’ve never doubted it since. You should see me when details about the next FIFA start getting released, I just wana explode with excitement!  I am playing the latest Tomb Raider, when FIFA gets a break, and its freakin’ amazeballs! I play Tomb Raider on PC… just so that I don’t have to take my FIFA disc out my console. Lol.

Do you have any hobbies outside of gaming?  What?

Yeah, my love for football goes beyond just the virtual world. I love watching and playing football. Besides that, I enjoy gyming as well.

You’re stranded on a desert island and a genie grants you five items.  Name them:

A game: FIFA

A CD: any FIFA soundtrack

A movie or TV series: The Walking Dead

An organic life form: Probably a female… desert islands can be lonely

Something edible or drinkable: Pizza [FIFA flavored right? – Undead Ed]

What’s the most embarrassing or worst game you’ve ever bought or received as a gift?

Eyepet. In my defence it was a game + eye camera bundle and I really just wanted the camera.

If you were a game designer, describe your ultimate game design.

Anything that is as real as life itself. I know games are suppose too be an imaginary world or experience but I enjoy them more when they’re as realistic as can be.

The zombie apocalypse has happened.  You’re facing down a ravenous zombie horde (which may or may not include members of ZG in bikinis).  What weapon do you grab?

Chainsaw!! I haven’t experienced it yet but I’m sure there is no better feeling than hearing the motor of a chainsaw running while you slice your way through zombie after zombie! [We can tell you there is. When a zombie bites a chainsaw-wielding maniac… -Undead Ed]

In the aforementioned zombie apocalypse you humans are all toast.  Become a turncoat and assist the superior zombies or stay with the soon to be wiped out human resistance?

Stay with the humans!!!! Have you watched the Walking Dead!! It’s epic!! Plus I’d prefer to not walk around mindlessly every day.

Thanks for taking the time to answer our silly questions.  What game are you off to play now that you’re done?

Haha… FIFA.
