If you’ve been enjoying saving the planet from the alien menace in XCOM: Enemy Unknown (we have been – perhaps a little too much as the review has been delayed to ensure the annihilation of those dastardly creatures), you will be happy to know that 2K Games has plans to release further DLC for the game in 2013.

“The title is proving to be a critical and commercial success,” said the publisher, before confirming that the game “is being supported with two downloadable add-on content packages available this year, with additional content planned for 2013”.

Two packs have been revealed to date – the already available Elite Solider Pack, and the upcoming Slingshot Content Pack which brings new Council missions.  The Slingshot Content Pack will – according to 2K – have gamers “meet an enigmatic Triad operative, divert an alien ship’s course, and do battle with the aliens in the skies over China.”  The pack will also feature three new maps, but no official release date or price has been confirmed yet.
