The Darkness II Comic-Con panel has said that there is a live-action feature film version of The Darknesscurrently in development. The film is being produced by Mandeville Films – the studio behind the Academy Award-winning The Fighter. The panel at Comic-Con 2011 discussing Gears of War 3 dropped a few interesting bits of information about the game which was featured alongside a reveal of an ‘American Chopper’ built Gears of War 3 chopper. Obviously.
Activision has already dated one if its three games at Comic-Con (Protoype 2 for April 24, 2012), and now two more of their games have been given release dates. Activision has confirmed the releases date of Prototpe 2 as April 24, 2012. That’s still a bit of a wait if you enjoyed the original one, but at least you can enjoy the Comic-Con ‘Homecoming’ trailer so long.
The local media liaison for Xbox in South Africa have been kind enough to send us the full schedule of Xbox related goodies at this years Comic-Con. Sadly, they did not attach first-class (or even economy-class) air tickets to the event. We’re currently accepting donations.
Comic-Con 2011 is on this coming weekend, and Square Enix plans to show off some of their upcoming AAA titles – Dead Island, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Final Fantasy XIII-2 and Wakfu. Apparently (and somewhat surprisingly) the new Tomb Raider and Hitman will not be at the show.
In related news, Final Fantasy XIII-2 has a release window of January 2012.
