Comic-Con 2011 is on this coming weekend, and Square Enix plans to show off some of their upcoming AAA titles – Dead Island, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Final Fantasy XIII-2 and Wakfu. Apparently (and somewhat surprisingly) the new Tomb Raider and Hitman will not be at the show.
In related news, Final Fantasy XIII-2 has a release window of January 2012.
Attendees to Comic-Con 2011 will be able to check out the games mentioned, along with two panels being hosted by Square Enix for Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Dead Island.
The first, The World of 2027 in Deus Ex: Human Revolution, will feature Eidos-Montreal community manager Kyle Stallock and a panel of Mary DeMarle, lead writer at Eidos-Montreal and Will Rossellini, CEO of MicroTransponder. Along with a Q&A and extended game footage, the two will discuss the theme of transhumanism in DE:HR and compare it to current scientific advances in the bio-mechanical augmentation field. The panel will be in room 5A on Thursday, July 21 at 11 AM.
The second panel plans to infest Comic-Con with Dead Island’s zombies. GamePro’s science editor Andrew Groen along with Dead Island’s lead writer Haris Orkin and other zombie experts will explore the undead monsters. You’ll be able to check out the panel in Room 8 on Friday at 7:30 PM.
On top of the panels, Square Enix will also be debuting five new Dissidia and Metal Gear Solid Peace Walkeraction figures from Play Arts -Kai-.
