The recent debate on whether the next-generation consoles should block used games has  become an ongoing debate among industry players.

A Crytek director has come forward and revealed that he is all for it, as have other key figures, and then there are some who believe that it would not be the best choice for the manufacturers to block used-games.

Michael Patcher previously explained that if a manufacturer had to block used games and another didn’t, gamers could flock to the console that did not, and so the manufacturer opposing used games would be hurting themselves by doing so.

CVG report that Jack Tretton, CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment America has expressed that he does not like the idea of blocking used games, but that these were his own thoughts, and Sony Japan might not feel the same.

Tretton believes that used games are “great for consumers” and to block them would be an “anti-consumer” move.
