Good day South Africa. It’s been yet another week since the last SA Gaming Wrap, proving nothing really changes other than the content. And that’s no bad thing.

Game Edge FIFA 14 Tournament

Game Edge 2014_Reg OpenWe’ve called it one of the best kept secrets of the FIFA scene in South Africa, but this year, the Game Edge FIFA Tournament in Bloemfontein may prove to be the biggest yet. Registrations have opened and will stay open until 7 September. For the R250 entry fee, contestants will play for a new Mini Cooper valued at around R250,000.

MSI Beat It

The MSI Beat SA qualifier for Dota 2 is in full swing and reaches its climax (finals, dammit) on Sunday 17 August.

The remaining matches will be streamed via the MWEB GameZone Twitch Channel, as well as their Live Event Stream page.

Information that may prove invaluable for your enjoyment of the tournament:

DoGaming League

You have less than a week to complete your matches in the Winter Leg playoffs, so get to it or suffer a forfeit or three we assume.

MSSA

MSSA SA Flag LogoThe Protea Team was defeated by Egypt this past weekend in their Dota 2 test match. The MSSA said that while the team was defeated by Egypt – who are ranked lower than South Africa – the “current Egyptian Dota 2 team is considered by many to be one of the world’s heavyweights.”

The test match, according to the MMSA , is “only the beginning of a long campaign against teams with much greater international exposure and experience.”

Sticking with MSSA related things, this coming weekend (16 August to be exact) will be the MSSA’s 2014 MWEB On-line Championship for HearthStone, StarCraft II, and League of Legends. Registrations close on 14 August 2014.
