Breakfast Wrap 02It’s been a pretty quiet 12 or so hours in the gaming world, but there’s enough to chew on to fill that empty breakfast tummy of yours.

Let’s start off with some Gears of War Judgment news (I’m a bit of a fan to be honest).  The game comes with an unlockable campaign called ‘Aftermath’.  The campaign will unlock once users have earned a certain number of stars (awarded for completing sections of the main campaign in style by performing headshots, executions, etc.).  The content reveals what Baird and Cole got up to while Marcus was busy finishing off the Locust Queen in the final hours of Gears of War 3.  And, it wasn’t ‘getting the ladies’ as this trailer reveals…

Reports are suggesting that BioWare has shut its San Fancisco studio, leading to 25 to 30 redundancies.  This is according to GamesRadar sources, and is due to EA considering the cost of running the studio in California too expensive.  Don’t panic, it has very little effect on your console games, as the studio specialised in social versions of major titles, including Dragon Age: Legends on Facebook and the 2D edition of Mirror’s Edge.

Other reports – albeit confirmed by TimeGate president Adel Chaveleh [via Polygon] – have revealed that the Aliens: Colonial Marines co-developer have had to let go of around 25 emploees.  Chaveleh said: “Today, we had to make the difficult decision to let go of some great game developers. This is never easy, and we’re doing all we can to assist those developers affected.”

Jason West’s departure from Respawn Entertainment has been confirmed.  Yesterday it was but a rumour, this morning we can confirm the news.  As per the statement from his business partner Vince Zampella: “Jason has left Respawn to take care of some family issues. We have worked together on some amazing accomplishments over the years, starting with an early Segasoft project that never shipped. It is sad to see things come to an end, but there are times when change is best for growth, both personally and professionally. I wish Jason the best and send my best wishes to his family. Respawn continues to amaze me, the team here is resilient and talented. E3 will be therapeutic for us, as we finally get to start showing our work again. I know the team was excited about the response we got from just admitting we were going to attend.”

A new patch for Skyrim is due on PC and consoles this month.  Patch 1.9 will fix a large number of bugs, as well as introduce a new Legendary difficulty setting.  Patch notes on CVG.

Mass Effect 3‘s final singleplayer DLC – Citadel – is out (from) today.  Let’s celebrate with a trailer.

Watch snipers snipe in this new trailer for Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2.

Hereos in a half shell…  Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows is coming to the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.  Expected this [Northern Hemisphere] summer via digital download, it features turtles acting like ninjas.

Wonderbook: Diggs Nightcrawler will arrive in May, Sony confirmed.  They also released a new trailer.

Let’s end with the game we started with, in the new commercial for Gears of War Judgment.
