Breakfast Wrap 03I’m a little grumpy this morning.  So if you want rainbows and butterflies you’re in the wrong place.  Braaaaaaiiiiiiiinnnnssss and limbs is where it’s at.  With a little news on the side.  Well, a lot of news actually.

Sony has again addressed the ‘pre-owned games’ issue on their new console.  Michael Denny, Sony’s VP of Worldwide Studios, told CVG that he sees the used games issue as “massively important” and promised the PlayStation firm will “do the right thing” by both parties.  Whatever that means after you remove the marketing jargon.

The man from Sony, also has stated that the PS4 will come with the “strongest launch line-up we’ve ever had“.  The games revealed so far include Killzone Shadow Fall, Drive Club, Knack and Watch Dogs.  We would assume there are plenty more to be revealed at E3.

Contrary to the words of SCEA CEO Jack Tretton, who said that next-gen games will cost “between $0.99 and $60”, EA‘s CFO Blake Jorgensen has said next-generation game prices are still to be decided.  He went on to say that at “at the start of a cycle” pricing will typically be $69 for a core piece of software, and then drop down to around $59 and that you will probably “see a similar trend to that during the start of the next cycle”.  Ugh.  Speculation again.  [via Polygon]

Watch Dogs was apparently developed on next-generation consoles first, which essentially means that everyone knowingly lied to us and that Xbox definitely has a new console coming.   According to a translated interview Ubisoft gave to Dutch site Inside Gamer, the publisher has been working on next-gen console titles for “two or three years”.  Now there is a team tasked with bringing the game to the current generation of consoles.  [via CVG]

Microsoft has registered numerous ‘Xbox Gold’ related domains.  According to Fusible Microsoft has bought up at least 16 other domains centered around the title and regions.

THQ is still in the news (only just however).  The publisher will be auctioning its unsold IP in six lots.  Up for grabs is “Darksiders, Red Faction, MX, Homeworld, as well as other owned software (including Big Beach Sports and Destroy All Humans!) and other licensed software (including Marvel Super Hero and Worms).” [via CVG]

Resident Evil 6 will be getting new multiplayer maps and a new mode next month.  Coming to PS3 and Xbox 360, the new multiplayer mode is called ‘Siege’, where two teams competing over a group of BSAA rookies – one team is tasked with protecting them, the other with killing them.  The new map pack features seven new maps – Rail Yard, High Seas Fortress, Catacombs, Requiem for War, Liquid Fire, Rooftop Mission and Creature Workshop.  The Siege mode will cost 320MSP/ $3.99 / £3.19 on 5 March on Xbox 360 and the day after on PS3, while the map map costs 400MSP / $4.99 / £3.99.

Uncharted 3 is getting a new multiplayer update, and it’s apparently going to be massive.  Go read all about on Naughty Dog’s official website.  The multiplayer mode has now also been released as a ‘free-to-play’ game on PSN.  All multiplayer competitive modes and original maps will be available as a free individual download, allowing players to gradually rank up to level 15 (of 75) without paying.  All is good with the world then.

Sticking with PSN – PlayStation’s US arm is giving consumers $10 back for every $50 they spend on PSN between now and the end of next month.  What about the rest of the world?  No news on that yet.  [via CVG]

In case you thought the next generation of consoles may bring cross-compatibility with PCs, start thinking otherwise.  At least with regards to Diablo 3.  Blizzard has confirmed that the upcoming PS3 and PS4 editions of the game will not feature connectivity with the PC version.  The question is, will they be able to “connect” between Sony’s platforms at least…?

The God of War: Ascension demo is out in the US and should be available during the course of today in Europe.  Let’s celebrate with a new trailer shall we?

The leaked list of Trophies for Need for Speed Most Wanted DLC has proved to be correct – there is three new content packs for the game and they’re now available.  Called ‘Terminal Velocity’ (1200MSP), ‘Movie Legends’ (800MSP) and ‘NFS Heroes’ (800MSP) they can be bought individually or purchased collectively as part of a bundle priced at 2000 MS Points / £19.99.

Guardians of Middle-earth will be introducing a ‘survival’ mode to the game, along with a new “one-lane map with the new Goblin-town map skin”.

The Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus launch trailer…  The game is available for the Vita in the US already and will be available in Europe from 1 March.

QuakeCon 18 will be held at the Hilton Anatole Hotel in Dallas, Texas from 1 to 4 August 2013, at which both id Software and Bethesda will publicly show off their new games for the first time.  Quake and Fallout then?

If you find yourself interested – even remotely – in the Wii Mini you may be able to get your hands on one in the UK from 22 March.  Wait, were you going, you haven’t even heard if it will be available in South Africa… No confirmation as yet.
