Two Million Skyrim Mods Downloaded

Within three days of the ‘Creation Kit’ being released to gamers for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, gamers have downloaded more than 2 million mods via the Skryim Workshop. The free tool that allows players to create their own custom content has racked up even more success stories for Bethesda, who are boasting the popularity of the tool as well as the game itself.

Other records Bethesda has revealed besides the numerous GOTY titles the studio racked up include the monumental success at retail and online Skyrim achieved. Ten million units across all platforms were shipped worlwide, and it was the second highest revenue hauler of 2011.

The PC version of  Skyrim sold three times more than any other PC game in the US making the RPG the fastest selling title in Steam’s history.
