Dungeon Siege III | Zombiegamer Review

In short

Dungeon Siege III is an action-rpg that even us junior RPG fans can play without wanting to rip our hair out. It’s a straight forward design yet a rewarding experience. It doesn’t break any new grounds, but does what it’s supposed to well. The few annoyances I had with some elements weren’t enough to detract from the enjoyment I got out. Simple, fun, rewarding.

The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile | Review

Developer: Ska Studios
For fans of: The Itchy and Scratchy Show and old school arcade games.
Reviewed on: Xbox 360 Live Arcade
If we had to give it a numerical score: 7/10

In short: An old school side scrolling high paced arcade slasher with a style all of its own.  As the press release says: “Seek retribution as you slash your way through 13 unique campaign levels as Yuki or The Dishwasher.”  What it doesn’t say is retribution is slashing your enemies to shreds – in a completely cartoon-like way.  Of course.

Forza 3: A noobs view…

By Chris ‘spiros za’ Hartley

FM3_01

I’m not a racer, never been one and thought I’d never be one…

It happened like this.  I needed a new HDD, my 20 gig is getting full very quickly. I shopped around for prices and made the decision that I’ll be buying myself a 250gig Elite, not knowing I’ll be getting FM3 in the bundle, sweet, sell it on for 400 bucks and get the console even cheaper!

I got home, set up my new XBOX and fiddled with the settings while the Forza cover was staring me in the face begging to be put into the disc tray to show off what it can do. I gave in and popped it into the tray, just to have a look at all the hype over the last 2 months…

Red Faction: Guerilla – Review (PS3)

By PsiCoNaut

Overview

Massive Destruction, in a large open world, 3rd person environment, is what this game is about. Having all manmade items in the game been fully destructible, makes it rather enjoyable, and all this in wonderful 1080 resolution (or at least a resolution higher than 720). The story is a fairly simple one, set in the year 2125, you, as Alec Mason, takes a trip to Mars to meet up with your brother. After the initial tutorial, the Earth Defence Force (EDF, which are the bad dudes) finds out that your brother is a Red Faction member. With which they decide to enforce their discovery by executing him. Alone, your brother gone, revenge flowing through your blood, the only friends you can turn too are the Red Faction. So it’s time to go ‘guerrilla’ (which is far worse than ape).

Wet: Review (Xbox 360)

by Victor ‘r0gue’ Vieira

Overview

Rubi Malone is the main actress/heroine based on the gorgeous Eliza Dushku. She uses acrobatics, guns and a sword in slow-mo great action to revenge the ‘bad guys’ that set her up in this ‘out-there’ action shooter with elements of plat-forming and lovely use of slow-motion action. It plays out and even looks like a ‘retro’ movie, being played from a reel, so it really looks authentic to say the least. The latter statement is why you will read repeatedly that it has a ‘Tarantino’ type of look to it, which should be a huge compliment to the developers.

Wolfenstein – Review (X360)

By Clinton “dreddsix6six” O’Shea

Overview

Ah, Wolfenstein, you pixelated, Nazi killing, corridor dwelling, FPS you.  Oh, wrong era?  Well, that might be so, but even the new Wolfenstein still retains a fair amount of the base elements that made the 1991 version genre defining.  So how does this 2009 version hold up?

Features and Game play

Not too badly.  It is still (in essence) a pixelated, Nazi killing, corridor dwelling, FPS.  Without being pixelated.  And without actually being in corridors.

So, in essence, it’s an Old-school shooter.  But it’s not.
