The highly acclaimed Epic Mickey creator, Warren Spector will be trying his hand at videogames journalism. Spector will be writing for the industry respected Games Industry International.
We last heard from Spector a few months ago with the unfortunate closing of the Epic Mickey studio, Junction Point. Spector bid an emotional farewell to his co-workers at Junction Point in a Facebook post. The studio was closed down by Disney in January and it was then speculated that Eidos Montreal could seek to bring him back to the studio that brought us Deus Ex.
GIInternational announced that Spector will now be writing an exclusive monthly column for the publication, with the first of his columns due this week.
Spector’s column, “will dive into serious subjects about the industry and will pose questions that Spector himself may not have the answers to,” says the announcing post.
Spector is most recently known for the Epic Mickey series, but was also the producer of classics like System Shock and Deus Ex. In recent years Spector became vocal against the abundance of violent themes in modern-day games.
