Upcoming Events
Over on ACGL, there are a number of online tournaments happening this weekend. If you play Call of Duty, Fortnite, Rocket League and more, sign up now and compete.
It’s a decent weekend ahead for local gaming events:
- Xbox Playdates ZA community gaming get togethers generally happen every Wednesday from 8pm and selected Fridays from 9pm. You can get more information here about the regular gaming play dates for Xbox One players. Upcoming for July:
- 6th – F1 2017 (British GP)
- 11th – Titanfall 2
- 18th – GTA Online
- 20th – F1 2017 (Deutschland)
- 25th – MotoGP 17
- 27th – F1 2017 (Budapest)
- Durban Gaming Expo is already underway. The event – hosted at the House and Garden Show – kicked off on Thursday (5 July) and runs until Saturday (7 July). There is an MSSA affiliation to the event which features a number of competitive titles and ‘unofficial’ games. Details can be found here.
- Cold Fusion LAN happens at Laerskool Edleen in Kempton Park from Friday at 6pm and runs until 11am on Sunday. Seats are R100 each and there will be a number of tournaments happening. Additional information can be found on the event page.
- ACE Gaming is hosting a Black Ops 3 LAN event for PS4 on Saturday and Sunday. The cost is R200 pre-booked and will be hosted at the Rivonia Recreational Club. Details of the LAN can be found here.
Alongside the Call of Duty, there is a FIFA 18 tournament which is detailed here. Both tournaments feature a prize pool ‘determined by entries’ and are BYO.
- ACGL (and we zombies) are at Tygervalley Shopping Centre from 11am on Saturday with the Fives Futbol FIFA mini-tournament. Various products and vouchers are up for grabs. Details about the event are available here.
- Hollow Tournament is happening in Despatch on Wednesday 11 July from 5pm. R40 gets you competing in a variety of tournaments. Details can be found here.
- Next weekend sees a couple of events around the country, including LanX, GAC LAN and more. Hit our calendar for more.

EGE 2018
Registrations have opened for this year’s EGE at CTICC. The first title to be available is the Call of Duty: WWII on PS4 by ACGL. Additional tournaments will be revealed over the coming weeks.
