Upcoming Events

There is a busy weekend in store for all, especially for those in Gauteng:

  • Xbox Playdates ZA July dates have not been confirmed at the time of writing, however there is usually something every Wednesday from 8pm and selected Fridays from 9pm. You can get more information here about the regular gaming play dates for Xbox One players.
  • Rush Esports is back for year two but this time in Pretoria. The esports focused event starts Friday (29 June) and runs until Sunday (1 July). FIFA, CS:GO, Fortnite and more feature with plenty of cash prizes and products up for grabs. Spectators can get a day pass for R60 or a weekend pass for R100.   • ICON is at Emperors Palace from Friday to Sunday. The geek, gaming and comic expo features international guests and plenty of activities to sate the geek in you. Tickets prices start at R120 for a day pass and head up to R1,995 for a VIP pass. Head to the event page for more.
  • Game Night is a small LAN event in Hatfield Pretoria which starts at 15h00 on Friday and ends 22h00 on Saturday. Entry is free and the CS:GO tournament features R5,000. Additional information is available here.
  • Durban Gaming Experience brings you a Call of Duty: WWII BYO LAN for PS4 on Saturday (30 June). The action starts at 9h00 at The City Varsity and entry is R150 per person. Details can be found here.
  • ComicEx hits GrandWest, Cape Town on Saturday and Sunday. You can “expect gaming, cosplay, merchandising and comic book stalls, pop up movies, ComicEx Idols, LARP, live band, Igloo dance zone, magicians, hypnotists, music, photo-booths and so much more.” Tickets are R100 for a day pass and R150 for a weekend pass.   • MHC World in Pretoria have a FIFA 18 tournament from 9h00 on Saturday and continuing on Sunday with the grand finals. There is a R100 entry fee vouchers and a PS4 Pro up for grabs. Head to the event page for more.
  • Zimbabwe has a Mortal Kombat X tournament on Saturday from 12h00. The tournament features a cash prize pool and will be hosted at the Christian Science Church in Harare. For additional information, we suggest you head here.
  • Next weekend sees a couple of events around the country, including Durban Gaming Expo, ACE Gaming Black Ops 3 LAN and more. Hit our calendar for more.
