This rumour started a few days ago, and usually I’d just ignore a “source within the industry who has previously leaked other information…”, as a way of covering one’s backside. However, following last year’s rumour that the next Call of Duty would be set in space, I’m starting to cross all my fingers and hope that the this rumour is true. I mean, Call of Duty in space? That’s Doom or even Halo isn’t it?
Anyway, the rumour is that the next Call of Duty will be a prequel to Modern Warfare and will be developed by Infinity Ward…The source goes on to suggest that the game will follow the origin story of Ghost from Modern Warfare 2 and show the events that lead up to the war in Modern Warfare.
The game will go on to “reveal how Ghost first became a member of Task Force 141 based on the comic book stories written by David Lapham. In various parts of the game that will focus on the life of Ghost – players will revisit locations from both Call of Duty 4 and Modern Warfare 2, but this time from a different viewpoint.”
