Nintendo has revealed new information about the ‘Pokémon World Tournament’ gameplay mode that will debut in Pokémon Black Version 2 and Pokémon White Version 2.
Players will return to the ‘Unova Region,’ where the new adventure will be set two years after the events of the previous games.
The new ‘Pokémon World Tournament’ mode includes the following as per the press release:
Compete Against Classic Gym Leaders: Enter the Pokémon World Tournament, an exciting arena where players will be able to take on Gym Leaders and Champions from previous Pokémon video games.
Fans of the series will be able to battle trainers such as Lance, Champion from the Johto Region and Volkner, Gym Leader from the Sinnoh Region. Players can also use the new battle styles and moves found only in Pokémon Black Version 2 and Pokémon White Version 2 against these classic opponents.
Battle Format: Players will enter the Pokémon World Tournament as a part of an elimination tournament. Featured battles include single, double and triple battles; as well as rotational battles.
Using the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, players can also receive data that allows them to battle with special trainers such as the top players and their teams from the 2012 Pokémon Video Game World Championships.
Pokémon Black Version 2 and Pokémon White Version 2 will be available from all retailers at RRP R399 for the Nintendo DS and 3DS on 12th October 2012..
