The new PlayStation 3 update version 4.46 has started rolling out to address the notorious bug that affected some console owners who installed version the previous version.
If you installed last week’s update and therefore cannot load the Xross Media Bar, Sony has outlined a three step process for updating to version 4.46.
Sony’s support site [via Polygon] explains that those who downloaded the previous patch will need to download the latest software update to a USB storage device (or depending on the model, another supported storage device), boot into “safe mode” on their PlayStation 3 and then install the update manually.
