Nintendo Slashing 3DS Price and Rewarding “Ambassadors”

Nintendo has reportedly announced that they will be dropping the suggested retail price for their Nintendo 3DS handheld worldwide which launched just a few months ago. The price cut is a substantial one which is reportedly around $80 [around R500].

Destructoid report that the cuts are occurring in Japan, Europe and Australia so we can only assume that we will follow. The new price is almost 30% for any new buyers and apparently Nintendo is compensating those that already made the plunge by gifting them with access to download a collection of 10 NES games for free before they hit the eShop.

In addition, ten Game Boy Advance titles can be had for the early buyers, including Yoshi’s Island: Super Mario Advance 3, Mario Kart: Super Circuit, Metroid Fusion, WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$ and Mario vs. Donkey Kong, before the end of the year.

Nintendo are calling these early adopters “Ambassadors.”
