Modern Warfare 3 to feature 32-player matches on console?

This has to be filed under ‘rumour’ for now, but CVG is reporting on a now removed Youtube video which has revealed some details on the multiplayer component of the next Call of Duty game.

The video showed a sneaky so-and-so browsing the game’s menus of the game – which we assume has been set up for the upcoming Call of Duty XP event this weekend – and discovering the Team Deathmatch mode and new mode ‘Bomb’.  Also revealed is that the game will cater for 32 players – up from the 18 players traditionally featured in previous Call of Duty games.

The video also showed the names of 13 multiplayer maps, including: Carbon, Coast, Dome, Exchange, Hardhat, Interchange, Lambeth, Meteora, Mogadishu, Paris, Plaza, Radar and Seatown, according to SFX-360.

While we are hesitant to proclaim that the information be true, if the Youtube video was from the demo version of the game for the show, it’s most likely that Activision may have been planning to announce these details over the weekend.  Now we shall wait to see if official confirmation is coming… although someone asked someone to pull the video.  Makes one think – doesn’t it?
