The event – which is being brought to life by Floating Tree, Nu Metro Cinemas and PlayEZ Esports – will be hosted at Emperors Palace from 14h30 on the day. The live broadcast of MINECON will start at 18h00 and run until 20h00. The day will be filled with all sorts of Minecraft related goodness.
Tickets cost R75 for the gaming sessions and R110 for the viewing event. For your R110 you will experience the MINECON broadcast in the Emperors Palace Nu Metro Xtreme cinema, which “boasts powerful 360-degree Dolby Atmos sound (including overhead speakers), a three-storey-high curved screen (one of the largest cinema screens in South Africa) and a phosphoric laser projector that can display 70-trillion colours with 4K Ultra HD quality.” And with popcorn.

A special viewing event for Minecraft players and community
Johannesburg, Gauteng, August 19, 2018– Floating Tree, in conjunction with Nu Metro Cinemas and PlayEZ Esports gaming, are pleased to announce that they will be hosting an official MINECON Earth Party at Emperors Palace, Johannesburg on the 29th of September 2018 for all Minecraft players. MINECON is an annual event hosted by Mojang where players can get together and celebrate everything about their favorite game.
The best way to experience the live MINECON Earth web broadcast is with your friends, family and other Minecraft players in front of Nu Metro’s giant Xtreme cinema-screen. The Xtreme cinema at Nu Metro Emperors Palace boasts powerful 360-degree Dolby Atmos sound (including overhead speakers), a three-storey-high curved screen (one of the largest cinema screens in South Africa) and a phosphoric laser projector that can display 70-trillion colours with 4K Ultra HD quality. With popcorn in hand and epic sound and screen-quality immersing you in the experience, this is something that no Minecraft player would want to miss.
MINECON Earth is being hosted by Mojang’s Lydia Winters and five popular YouTube presenters. The show is shrouded in mystery but will include news and information about Minecraft updates and many other surprises.
In addition to the live broadcast, there will be interactive Minecraft gaming across multiple platforms including PC, console and mobile hosted by PlayEZ Esports in their state-of-the-art gaming lounge. This is a perfect opportunity to meet and play live with other Minecraft players. There will be plenty of Minecraft merchandise at the exhibitor’s stands, giveaways and other surprises too.
