MGM have now confirmed the deal that will see a partnership with production company GK for ongoing Tomb Raider films.
Hitfix confirm that MGM have acquired the film rights and that Graham King will return to produce the reboot.
King had previously secured the film rights back in 2011 from the game’s publisher Square Enix.
“Graham is one of the premier producers in this industry and I am delighted to be working with him on this exciting franchise,” said MGM Chairman and CEO Gary Barber in a statement.
“We look forward to developing more projects together in the future.”
Crystal Dynamics’ studio head, Darrell Gallagher says it was important for both the game’s developing studio and the film’s GK Studio to have a “cohesive version of the franchise.”
