Either it’s an indication of the expected lifetime of the 360 or it’s a plan to release the next instalment of the trilogy in record breaking time, but Mass Effect 3 will be seen on the current gen MS console. If the second one lives up to expectations, then it’s time to throw a party…if not, then they can rather hold off for a while.
This is according to Mass Effect Project Manager Casey Hudson. He has stated that the team is aiming for “a fairly short turnaround” though he doesn’t say what this is – maybe an EA Sport’sLeft 4 Dead 2 type scenario or it could be a reference to the usual 2-year wait for sequels.
In any case, BioWare want to wrap up the trilogy within the Xbox 360’s lifetime, which would make it a neat and tidy way of tying the series up. Though it’s strange that there are currently more stories on Mass Effect 3 than there are on Mass Effect 2 right now…
