Kinect for Windows Update 1.5 Released to Recognize ‘Seating Apps’ and Brings 3D Improvements

Microsoft have released version 1.5 of the Kinect for Windows which adds more capabilities for developers to make use of.

Microsoft added the Kinect Studio which will benefit developers with recording and playing back, the Face Tracking SDK to provide a real-time 3D mesh of facial features and some coding improvements.

The skeletal capabilities have also been expanded and improved which can now be tracked from the seating position. This will allow devs to create applications for seated scenarios.

The update will also makes it easier for developers to build applications that control a 3D avatar, such as Kinect Sports.
