GTA V doesn’t look like it will be making an appearance this year according to publisher Take-Two who omitted the project from its release schedule when addressing investors in a financial year statement.

The financial statement did mention other projects for the current fiscal year, including the Max Payne 3 downloadable content, Borderlands 2 and Bioshock Infinite.

This omission means the game is more likely to be seen in the next fiscal year – after March 2013.

However, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has said: “We just haven’t talked about a release date.  We’re blessed to be working with Rockstar.”

A representative for the publisher has also said that GTA V “is in full development and making substantial progress”.

In related news, the financial report also revealed lower than expected sales for Take-Two’s Max Payne 3 and Spec Ops: The Line which resulted in the publisher missing its first quarter forecasts.

Take-Take CEO Strauss Zelnick said he was “disappointed” with this and that he takes “responsibility” and that  the firm will “take it on the chin”.
