Good morning all. It seems we’ve hit a slight news slow down as we watch the US head into their Thanksgiving weekend.
Hardware
Research company IHS has broken down the Xbox One and PS4 to determine how much they cost to build. According to their findings, the Xbox One costs more at $471 for parts and manufacturing, while the PS4 costs $381. The $90 difference is attributed mainly to the Kinect which costs $75 per unit to manufacture. [More on CVG]

Twitch has removed PS4 Playroom streams from its listings after a raft of non-gaming related broadcasts. [More on Polygon]
A total of 18 apps will be available on the PS4 on launch in Europe. The apps available (country dependent) include BBC iPlayer, Music Unlimited, Video Unlimited and more. The full list is available here.
The PlayStation App is now available in the UK for Android and iOS devices.
Games
The Xbox Live Marketplace (or Xbox Game Store) has kicked off a Black Friday sale which includes week long specials as well as two one day only specials. The sale has discounts of as low as 33% off, up to as much as 80% off. For the full price list, head here.
A Battlefield 4 patch on the PS4 has been released. The fix is designed to reduce the number of game crashes and improve the general stability of the game.
EA is asking gamers for feedback on their next-gen FIFA 14 issues. Fill in this feedback form if you’re having disconnections, crashes, etc.
A number of title updates, as well as new maps, are due for Killzone Shadow Fall. A third title update is due in a “few weeks”, and will be followed by Update 4 in January. That will be followed by “the big one – Update 5, which includes two new MP maps for FREE; and the release of offline Botzone for Mercenary and Guerrilla Warfare modes (price TBC).” A sixth update will be released in the “first few months of 2014”.
The Xbox One exclusive Quantum Break will ship with episodes of its tie-in TV show included on its disc, rather than being a spin-off or separate entity, to fit snugly within the game’s ongoing narrative and adapt to reflect the choices you’ve made. [More on Polygon]
A PC patch for Call of Duty: Ghosts has been released and brings in a number of performance and stability improvements, as well as general fixes and support for nVidia’s PhysX and Apex technologies. Full changelog available here.
Activision claims that Call of Duty: Ghosts is the most played multiplayer game on the PS4 and Xbox One. Not that difficult to see why. Maybe wait until the consoles are available in more countries before patting yourself on the back?
Doctor Who: The Legacy – a free-to-play puzzle game – will arrive on iOS and Android devices today.
Rockstar has announced that a mobile version of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas will be released this December. It will be available for select iOS, Android, Amazon Kindle and Windows Mobile devices.
Industry
EA has dropped the price of their digital PS4 games in the UK from the previously announced £62.99 to £59.99. The same games on the Xbox One Marketplace are £54.99.
Any of our UK cousins looking to buy a PS4 on release day without pre-ordering can head to Asda. The UK retailer will have some consoles available on a first-come-first-served basis. [More on MCV]
Microsoft has revealed that it has signed a number of Japanese developers for “full” games (not small download titles) on the Xbox One which will be revealed in 2014. [More on Kotaku]
Double Fine has regained the rights to Stacking and Costumes Quest thanks to Nordic Games’ buyout of THQ, and the two games, along with Psychonauts will be released on PC and Mac in the first half of 2014. [More on CVG]
The 19 year-old Skyrim modder, Alexander J. Velicky, who dreamed of working at Bethesda has been snapped up by Bungie. [More on CVG]
