A leaked promotional poster for Battlefield 4 (or at least, what is presumed a leaked one) reveals a release date of 31 October for the game. It also reveals the name of the first DLC (‘Drone Strike’) and the updated Battlelog called, Battlelog 2.0. Obviously, you should wait for EA or DICE to officially announce this before taking it as confirmed. Right?
FIFA 14 looks set to arrive on 24 September in the US if an Amazon listing is to be believed. The listing is actually for an unannounced Vita version of the game, so there is potentially another cat out of the bag. [via CVG]
Bethesda has officially announced the The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Legendary Edition. The version will contain the main game along with the DLC packs Dragonborn, Hearthfire and Dawnguard. It will also feature all the features added in the 1.9 patch. The game will release in Europe and Australia on 7 June 2013, and will cost you £39.99 / €49.99 on Xbox 360 and PS3, and £29.99 / €39.99 on PC.
Some more RPG news. The Witcher 3 will not feature multiplayer or QTEs. On PC, the game will also not feature DRM. That’s all according to the project lead Konrad Tomaszkiewicz in an interview with Forbes.
Sony is feeling a little bullish these days. They’ve doubled their annual profit forecast, as well as raising their sales and operating income guidance. Not that we understood most of that. The main reason given is due to the “sale of a number of assets and the favourable impact of the depreciation of the yen in the fourth quarter.” [via CVG]
PS4 lead system architect Mark Cerny has been talking up the launch line-up of Sony’s next console, and said that it will be the “strongest line-up of any Sony console.” He of course declined to name names or numbers. [via Gamasutra]
Let’s slip into some next Xbox rumour and speculation. According to veteran Microsoft analyst Paul Thurrot (a man who previously leaked the 21 May reveal date), you can expect the next Xbox to arrive in two flavours and in November. The console will cost either $499 and $299, with the latter including some form of subscription – most likely around $10 a month. [via Eurogamer] Mr. Thurrot also went on to say that the next Xbox must be “Internet-connected to use,” but it is not as “Draconian as many seem to believe”. He also said that the next Xbox will run a “Core” version of Windows 8, and will have a Blu-Ray drive. [via CVG]
The Black Ops 2 ‘Uprising’ DLC will arrive on PS3 and PC on 16 May.
A new Grid 2 multiplayer video has been released by Codemasters. it is an extended version of the Grid 2 ‘multiplayer redefined’ trailer.
The game (formerly known as) Stealth Bastard has a new name. Curve Studios announced that the PlayStation game shall from now be known as Stealth Inc: A Clone in the Dark. A clone. Alone. Geddit? Meh. Us neither.
EA seems to quietly be battling some kind of financial issues. The firm has undergone some more staff cuts – and while they themselves are not saying how many – reports are suggesting that around 10 per cent of its workforce has been laid off. This is not the first time this year that staff have been laid off by Electronic Arts. [via Kotaku]
