With the Xbox Reveal just over a day away, rumours are still doing the rounds.  Although to call words from Microsoft’ Aaron Greenberg a rumour is probably not fair.  On the latest podcast with Major Nelson he implied that the company could be targeting a ‘holiday’ 2013 launch for its next-generation Xbox, as well as promising ‘tons of exclusive’ games which will be revealed at E3. The Last of Us will be “playable during download” on the PS3, essentially testing the new feature coming to the PS4.  Naughty Dog’s creative director, Neil Druckmann, said that the game can be played once more than fifty per cent of its content has been downloaded. [via Game Informer]

Rainbow 6: Patriots has been removed from GameStop’s database, and pre-orders have been stopped, sparking speculation that the game has been canned or possibly just delayed to next-gen consoles. [via IGN]

The Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection will arrive in US on 9 July at a price of $49.99, Konami has confirmed.  No confirmation on Europe yet.

A PC version of Platinum Games’ Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance has been announced by series director Hideo Kojima. [via CVG]

Sony has shifted the release date of PS Vita exclusive Killzone Mercenary to avoid a clash with GTA V.  It was originally scheduled for 17 September, but will now arrive early on 4 September in Europe, 6 September in the UK and on 10 September in North America.

Defiance developer Trion Worlds has confirmed that it has been hit with redundancies, which according to IGN has affected around 80% of the staff.  Trion have stated that this number is exaggerated.

Voice actor Kevin Conroy (Batman in The Animated Series and Arkham games) has confirmed at the Dallas Comic Con that he will reprise his role for Batman: Arkham Origins.

Sticking with Bats – the villian Deathstroke will be “playable” as DLC in Batman: Arkham Origins.  This is according to a pre-order listing by Amazon. [via CVG]

A teaser trailer – and we really mean it this time – weighing in at five seconds has revealed hints of work-in-progress footage for Call of Duty: Ghosts.  The video also promises new details later this week.

EA’s decision not to bring FIFA 14 to the Wii U is (unsurprisingly) due to poor sales of FIFA 13 on Nintendo’s console. [via Eurogamer]

The Wii U seems to be under fire in general from EA, with EA software engineer Bob Summerwill criticising the console for being “less powerful than Xbox 360” and lacking viability for third party publishers.  In fact he said the “Wii U is crap.” [via CVG]

The Wii U is getting a Yakuza 1 & 2 HD remake.  Phew.  Something partly new and interesting coming to the console again…  The compilation will be out in Japan on 8 August, but no international release has been confirmed yet.

Coming to the support of Nintendo’s console is Ubisoft who are confident that “Nintendo will take steps to ensure the Wii U is successful”.  [via GamesIndustry International]
