Games

Mass Effect 4 is “somewhere in the middle” of development. That’s the words of BioWare Montreal studio director Yanick Roy in response to a query on Twitter about the game’s development progress.

A patch for the PS3 and PS4 versions of Call of Duty Ghosts has been released. The patch addresses weapon balances, eSports, anti-cheating and more. Details can be found here.

Gran Turismo 6 will be getting Ayrton Senna content with its May update. [More on the Gran Turismo Website]

The Achievements and Trophies for Grid Autosport have been revealed. You know the score. Race cars, earn virtual trophies and gamerscore.

The PS Plus free version of DriveClub is “hardly a demo” according to director Paul Rustchynsky. You still get “access to all of the game’s features online and offline,”  and you get “10 cars and you can only race in one country (which gives you access to 5 tracks with 11 distinct variants).” Sounds like a big demo then. MMO Defiance will go free-to-play on the PC from 4 June. The PS3 version will follow “shortly”, while the Xbox 360 version is still to be decided. A second season of the TV show tie-in is set to start on 19 June internationally.

Spelunky on the PS4 will add improved social features and a resolution of 1080p. The game will also be a cross-buy title with the PS Vita and PS3 versions. [More on PlayStation Blog]

Wolfenstein: The New Order‘s PC requirements have been revealed, as has the console install requirements. On console, and 8GB minimum install is required, with 47GB total install on Xbox One and PS4. The Xbox 360 version of the game ships on four discs.

The Elder Scrolls Online players will be getting five free days as an apology for server downtime. Bethesda also plans some extensive updates in the future. [More on the game’s Blog]

Eve: Valkyrie will use the Unreal Engine 4 rather than the Unity engine. The game has also added Battlestar Galactica’s Katee Sackhoff to the cast. [More on PC World]

The standalone version of DayZ has gone passed two million sales. That equates to a lot of dead zombies.

The Wii U version of Watch_Dogs is now being focused on following the completion of the game on other platforms. [More on CVG]

Stealth Inc 2 has been announced and revealed as a Wii U exclusive and is expected this year still.

Consoles & Hardware

Xbox One digital game pre-loading is still on the cards and Microsoft wants “this feature as well.” [via Reddit]

Sky Go and Now TV support will be coming to the PS4 this year. Now TV will arrive in the northern hemisphere’s summer, while Sky Go will arrive later in the year. The Xbox One will also get Now TV around the same time. [More on CVG]

You can now download the WWE Network app on your Xbox One in the US. The service is expected to launch outside of the US in late 2014 / early 2015.

According to (other people’s) sources, Nintendo will unveil new hardware at E3 this year. It is – according to VideoGamer.com – a successor to the Wii U.

Ouya has released its cloud-based game streaming service provided by Playcast Media. Games are currently available for free while the service goes through a beta period. [More on CVG]

Sony has cut its earnings forecast and expects to report a loss for the year ended on 31 March 2014. It’s not the PS4’s fault though – that’s doing great. [More on Eurogamer]

Zenimax has accused John Carmack of taking various knowledge and trade secrets with him when he moved from id Software (owned by Zenimax) to Oculus Rift. This matter has now gone legal thanks to the recent Facebook deal. [More on Eurogamer]
