The first DLC for GRiD: Autosport is in the form of the ‘Boost Pack‘. Unfortunately, it has nothing to do with nitro boosters but an opportunity to accelerate XP progression in both career and online modes. It costs ‘just’ £2.39/$2.99. Codemasters has also confirmed three car packs as part of the game’s season pass – ‘Best of British’, ‘Coupe Style’, and ‘Road & Track’. Three ‘mini-expansions’ for singleplayer will also be part of the season pass content and will feature “a brand new single player championship and along with it a selection of tracks, routes and cars”. You can expect the DLC “before October 2014”.

Sniper Elite 3‘s ‘Hitler’ (also known as ‘Hunt the Grey Wolf’) pre-order exclusive is now available to everyone at a price of $7.99.

The creation tools in LittleBigPlanet 3 will be “more accessible” and integrated into the story mode. [More…]

OlliOlli will be available for the PC on 22 July at a price of  £9.99/$12.99. The PS and PS4 versions of the game will be out at a later date.

Xbox One Camo Controller_01Microsoft has announced a new special edition stereo headset and wireless controller for the Xbox One that  sport a “modern camouflage pattern and military look”. The peripherals have been announced for release in October and will cost $64.99 for the controller and $89.99 for the headset. See more of the green machines here

This week’s Xbox Deals with Gold include Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare (40% off) and Wolfenstein: The New Order (33% off) on Xbox One, with BioShock, Doom, Wolfenstein and Quake related items discounted on Xbox 360. Details can be found here.

A restructuring at Microsoft may see a large number of jobs cut according to a report on Bloomberg. It looks likely to be the biggest cut in five years, and possibly the biggest in thhe firm’s history.

Sony appear to be justifying the glut of remakes to appease – and bring back – customers who skipped the PS3 and bought the Wii during that generation. Ex-Infinity Ward developers have formed Reload Studios and plan to release a VR shooter in 2015. The studio will develop games for VR and mobile markets as well as consoles.


This weekend it’s all about Dota 2‘s The International (unless you’re one of the 16 teams playing in the MWEB JHB LAN), where the final eight teams will be playing in the double elimination playoffs for the first prize (and not too badly awarded second through eighth place) of $4,949,345. The action starts again on Friday 18 July with the upper bracket and continues Saturday with the lower bracket.

Motiga – a studio formed by ex-StarCraft developers – has revealed Gigantic, which is described as “a team action game where heroes battle alongside a massive guardian in a fight for supremacy”. It is due for PC in 2015.
