Respawn’s co-founder Vince Zampella isn’t expecting Titanfall to outsell Call of Duty, saying that his new game will “build up momentum over the years”. [More on GameSpot]

Speaking of sales of Call of Duty, Ghosts is “on track to be the most pre-ordered title of the year,” according to a GameStop PR. [via CVG]

Still sticking with Call of Duty Ghosts, the sniping in the game is being overhauled with quick-scoping possibly being removed according to Infinity Ward executive producer Mark Rubin. Or as he said on Twitter: “Is it gone completely? Maybe. It certainly won’t be viable in the way it previously was.”

Sony has surprisingly announced that Japan will only get the PS4 months after the ‘West’ does. The console will be available on 22 February 2014 and will arrive in two flavours – the console priced at 39,980 yen (£256 / $401), or 41,979 yen (£269 / $421) with tax, or the console with the PS Camera for 43,980 yen (£282 / $441), or 46,179 yen (£296 / $463) with tax.

Beta tests for the PS4 version of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn will begin when the console launches in  Japan. Square Enix has also confirmed that owners of the PS3 version of the game can upgrade to the PS4 version of the game for free, and their existing character data will be carried over, and players will be able to continue playing on the new platform at no extra cost.

The spiritual successor to Capcom’s Mega Man –  Keiji Inafune’s Mighty No. 9 – has been updated with PS4 and Xbox One stretch goals. The new goal has been set for a target of $3.3 million, but the game is currently only confirmed for PC so far but looks on target to hit the $2.2 million target for Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii U versions. Sony has announced the PS Vita TV microconsole which will allow players to play 1,300 PS Vita, PSP and older, classic PlayStation games on a television screen. The console will launch first in Japan with a worldwide release to follow.
