Zombie Fest_FB_01

31 October is the day that the ghouls traditionally come out to play, and for the last five years has (almost always) been the date of the annual Zombie Walk in Cape Town.

This year, the Zombie Walk is expanding to offer the shambling hordes their own after party in the shape of Zombie Fest at The Lookout in the V&A Waterfront, which essentially forms the end point of the walk. Attendees of Zombie Fest can expect to be entertained by bands, a beer garden, a craft market, Sumo suit wrestling, competitions for best-dressed zombies and Zombiegamer – we mean, what would a zombie event be without us?

We will be hosting a gaming area that will – as far as possible – keep with the theme of the day. So expect zombies, music and general fun. The gaming will not be our traditional tournaments and is aimed at offering more for attendees to enjoy, but we will still have prizes up for grabs thanks to the good people of Raru.

Raru vouchers will be awarded for participation (everyone who takes part, even if they fail miserably, will be entered into a random draw per game), and other vouchers will be given to those that hold the highest score for specific titles at the end of the event. We plan to promote the upcoming Black Ops 3 by pitting your puny human body against waves of zombies in Black Ops 2. You can also show off your rhythm (or lack thereof) by matching colours in Guitar Hero and Just Dance. There will also be a box of games that we will rotate just for the fun of it, so ask the helpful (they won’t bite) (dis)member of the horde and maybe you can play something else just because you can’t shoot straight or have two left feet – making you pretty useless in the upcoming zombie apocalypse.

Yeah, it’s all about some fun, so don’t come around all serious, because we will just laugh and point at you.
