Babalas
Remember those old “Ja Boet” Castrol Ads? Well Boet, Swaer and Mogae have made it to the big screen in their very own movie. And this time around they’re joined by Neef (Jack Parow). When they’re invited to be part of a gala evening celebrating the most successful South African ad campaigns, the race is on to get them all to Sandton.
Dark Skies
Young Felicity is all grown up. Keri Russell features alongside Josh Hamilton in this film about a young family who start to notice unusual things happening around the house. And when their kid mentions the Sandman has been visiting, they understandably freak out.
Pacific Rim
Guillermo del Toro. Need I say more? Ok, if you insist. There’s a war raging between giant beast who rise from the sea and humanity. The ever resourceful humans have spent years fighting back using huge robots, but they are still at a huge disadvantage. What they need is a hero, or two.
Killing Them Softly
The late James Gandolfini stars alongside Brad Pitt in this film about gangsters and hitmen. When a trio of amateurs interfere in a mob gambling ring it has serious repercussions for the criminal economy. Pitt plays the hitman hired to get rid of the problem.
Zombie Terri’s Choice
I fear I may be run out of town if I pick anything other than Pacific Rim. Good thing then that it’s the one I most want to see. Despite the fact that some people seem to think that only geeks are looking forward to this one, I’ve read some great reviews in the mainstream media. So I’m guessing it’s wise to book tickets early. Also, I’m jonesing for some awesome monster effects.
