This past weekend saw the finals of the Megarom and Main Gaming Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Roadshow take place at Brightwater Commons.

Following a sequence of qualifiers countrywide, the carrot for the players was a R5000 pay cheque for taking the first place – along with being called a “champion” of course.

The Sunday started with the fourth and final qualifiers to finalise the 12 combatants who would battle for the glory.  Tournament favourite Di Lhong – the winner of the Cape Town Qualifier – demolished all and secured his spot in the finals.

Along with other other tournament favourites, Darren Peacock, Sameer Ahmed and Baber Abbas, the final rounds got under way, with Di Lhong and Sameer Ahmed eventually battling their way in the final.

In a match which needed Sameer to win six games against Di to take the tournament, it was always going to be a tough battle, but Di wrapped it all up by beating Sameer three games in a row, to take the winners crown and R5000 cash prize.
