Consumer Be Damned…

In the wake of the price increase of CoD:MW2 by Activision, Chris Deering, former boss of Sony Europe, says blockbuster games should be £70.

His argument is that games aren’t being produced efficiently, as “to write the game, publishers are having to spend more than ever before. That’s the key problem.”

Deering suggests the £70 pricetag would enable publishers to produce games effectively and support the industry, though he concedes there’s “a psychological glass ceiling” for gamers on price.

Now let’s not all get too excited just yet, ‘cos this is just the musings of someone who is a former boss.  But he knows things.  Right?
