Nowadays it seems the vast majority of big titles are coming out with DLC following shortly after release so I’m speculating that developers are designing games with DLC in conjunction with the game development. It is no surprise when you look at the price we pay for it, so it must be a good way to up their revenue intake with big titles. So I think we will start seeing better and better quality out of these packages. I don’t need to think further than “Scenes from Liberty City” DLC for GTA or some of the Borderlands stuff to justify that DLC is indeed on the up.
So with the massive upcoming Bioshock it comes as no surprise that Kent Hudson of 2K Marin told AustralianGamer that they already have a DLC strategy in place. So we might not have to wait too long for DLC to appear once the game is released. [Editor] Woohoo!
BioShock 2 comes with both a single player but is breaking into the multiplayer experience, so there is definitely room for expansion, especially for multiplayer modes we hope. The original Bioshock was long lived as a legend amongst gamers, let’s hope 2 will be long played… and DLC will just keep it fresh.
