The two Battlefield 3 teams playing for South Africa had matches in their respective tournaments yesterday.
The PS3 team playing in the World Nation’s Tournament face Switzerland in their penultimate group match, with a win needed to ensure a chance to progress to the knockout stages.
Sadly, the country that is meant to be “neutral” won the battle 2-1, but it was not given to them easily by Team SA. According to team captain Mr-Beefy_PS, the maps were close and the team lost some by only two tickets, and others by around 30 tickets. The team faces the Ukraine in their final group match – date and time to still be confirmed. The team still stands a chance of making the knockouts, but a win, along with relying on other teams is the only way forward.
Meanwhile, the SA team playing in the ClanBase Nation’s Cup had a good evening against Spain. The PC team took their game to leave the team fourth in Group C with one win and one loss. It appears that their next game is still to be confirmed.
Well played both teams. The future for competitive gaming in SA is looking pretty bright indeed.
Some screenshots sent to us by Mr-Beefy_PS from their game last night, which he again mentioned was a very close affair and came down to the last map:
