Ubisoft has announced that the E3 visitors will be treated to never-before-seen demonstrations of Ubisoft’s fiscal year 2012 line-up and exclusive new announcements. This year’s E3 also marks the start of Ubisoft’s 25th anniversary celebration and so the company is celebrating this milestone by delivering its strongest and most diverse brand portfolio to date they say.
Ubisoft has set up a new film and television division in France, reports Variety [via GamesIndustryBiz]. Based in Paris, the studio will be headed by Jean-Julien Baronnet who will team up with other well know industry veterans. The French publishing giant has only confirmed the division’s existence but has not made any official announcements in English, nor yet revealed its first project.
Ubisoft and Cabybara Games are launching Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes today on PSN. Clash of Heroes is an HD remake of the classic DS title released in 2009. Clash of Heroes follows five heroes as they embark on a journey to retrieve a lost artifact. “Through their adventures, you will visit five unique territories that will pose a variety of enemies and challenges. Ubisoft has announced Rocksmith, a guitar tutorial game that uses an actual guitar. The title is set for release on Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii and will come with a standard input jack adaptor that allows players to plug in a real electric guitar.
This announcement does seem a little odd considering the fact that Activision recently closed down the Guitar Hero business unit due to a decrease in demand for “peripheral-based music games”.
Ubisoft has announced new (and first paid for) DLC for Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood. Entitled ‘The Da Vinci Disappearance’, it will feature new content for both the single-player and multiplayer components of the game.
Expected in early March, it will cost you 800MS Points (around $10) and will be available on both Xbox 360 and PS3.
