505 Games and NaturalMotion Games have announced that their next chapter in the Backbreaker franchise will arrive on Xbox Live on June 29 and will be released on PlayStation “later this [Northern Hemisphere] summer”.
Starting on July the 20th and running for the five weeks following, you will be able to enjoy the summer sun (in the Northern Hemisphere at least) indoors. Playing some of these games possibly.
I’ll get the Beta information out of the way first, because it’s probably the one most are interested in. But the coming weeks on Xbox LIVE also feature some other goodies, including the Xbox Nations free weekend and Guinness record attempt as well as the Section 8: Prejudice release.
Below is the list of upcoming releases on Xbox LIVE as posted by the good Major.
Along with the traditional week long specials and releases, there is also a one day only sale on 1 April, which includes DLC from Fallout: New Vegas and Fable 3.
As well as the items listed below, keep an eye out for Crazy Taxi and Undead Nightmare Collection which are discounted until April 4.
In a year that retail software found difficult, Xbox Live Arcade in 2010 continued to grow, posting a 16% year-over-year increase in revenues, despite the strengthening of Games on Demand and Indie titles.
The growth was generally across the board, as new releases earned an average of $816,000 per title on the year – up from approximately $720,000 among new releases the year prior. The top title in terms of units, Capcom’s ‘Dead Rising 2: Case Zero’ saw just under 700,000 units sold at $5.00 per unit. Playdead’s highly-reviewed platformer ‘LIMBO’ was the highest grossing Arcade game, having recorded roughly $7.5 million in revenues by years’ end.
