TimeGate is keen to let you know that their “biggest and best $15 shooter” has been marked down on both Xbox Live and Direct2Drive.
The game – as well as its DLC – has a 50% discount (down to 800MS Points) on XBL and a whopping 75% off on Direct2Drive. The sale ends 3 October.
The ‘Frontier Colonies’ map pack will arrive on PSN on September 13 for $3.99 and will feature two new multiplayer maps.The “best multiplayer shooter since Battlefield: Bad Company 2” (Eurogamer’s words) released on the US PSN yesterday and will hit the Europe PSN today (if not already).
If you buy the game from PSN in the first week you will receive the Blitz Armor Pack and Overdrive Map Pack for free – two armor skins, early unlocks, and two additional multiplayer maps. If you are a PlayStationPlus subscriber, you will receive the exclusive in-game Hunter Armor, and if you are one of the first 1000 subscribers to purchase the game, you will receive a free copy of the original Section 8.
On top of all this, the free Skirmish mode is also now available across all platforms.
‘The Colonies’ Map Pack – which includes two new maps – will be arriving July 13 on Xbox 360 (320MS Points) and July 27 on PC ($3.99). This will be followed by a free (yes, really) game mode later this month, which will then be followed by the PlayStation version of the game… which is not free.
The new ‘Skirmish’ mode plays like Team Deathmatch, but with the added incentive of earning Victory points for completing missions. Control Points are out of the game, however, and players will need to adjust as needed.
In related news, the game’s kills a racking up quickly. There have been 57.5 million kills to date. Bloody mass murderers…
A new map pack – featuring two new maps – for the popular online shooter has been announced. Expect it on June the 1st.
