Good morning everyone. It’s that time of the week again. When zombies take a break of writing drivel and go back to doing what they do second best… chasing humans for fun. Well, it is Valentine’s Day, and who doesn’t like being chased by a loving zombie? Games The Xbox One beta of Titanfall will run at the rather odd…
It’s… no, we’re not going to tell you what day it is. People don’t appear to like that. So just read the news and this day will be a much better one for you. If you’re a FIFA fan and you reside in the UK, you may be able to join EA at their Guildford office to help them test FIFA…
Marking what is probably the last farewell in the Red Faction series, the ‘Path to War’ DLC is now available for download on Xbox LIVE. Coming in at 560MS Points, the DLC contains two new weapons and four new missions.
The Red Faction franchise will be no more. Due to poor sales over the last two versions of the game, THQ “do not intend to carry forward with that franchise in any meaningful way”. Ouch.
Despite the game’s poor sales, net sales were up year-over-year in THQ’s fiscal Q1 (which ended June 30), from $149.4 million to $195.2 million.
A “free playable demo” [like I’m willing to pay for one] of Red Faction: Armageddon will be available on the PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE on May 3.
**UPDATE**
The demo is still due to arrive as scheduled, but THQ has announced that the game itself has been delayed [didn’t see that coming did you?] by a week. It will now arrive June 7 instead of May 31.
The sequel to the ‘destroy-just-about-everything-you-see’ third person action game, Red Faction Guerrilla, has a release date of May 31, 2011.
**UPDATE**
The UK release date is June 3.
RF: Armageddon takes place 50 years after RF: Guerrilla, where you play the grandson of Alec Mason (lead from RF: Guerrilla), Darius Mason. The gameplay in RF: Armageddon is moving you more towards close quarters combat, but it will still feature highly destructible environments.

Overview
Massive Destruction, in a large open world, 3rd person environment, is what this game is about. Having all manmade items in the game been fully destructible, makes it rather enjoyable, and all this in wonderful 1080 resolution (or at least a resolution higher than 720). The story is a fairly simple one, set in the year 2125, you, as Alec Mason, takes a trip to Mars to meet up with your brother. After the initial tutorial, the Earth Defence Force (EDF, which are the bad dudes) finds out that your brother is a Red Faction member. With which they decide to enforce their discovery by executing him. Alone, your brother gone, revenge flowing through your blood, the only friends you can turn too are the Red Faction. So it’s time to go ‘guerrilla’ (which is far worse than ape).
There is a double xp weekend for those with Red Faction: Guerilla, starting Friday 11th September (tomorrow) and going on until the 13th, but only on the new Big Boomers playlist.
So what does that mean? Well here it is in all its glory.
