Gearbox has announced that the “Hail to the Icons” Parody Pack will be arriving on 11 October. The DLC adds three new multiplayer modes and four new maps – details of which we have here. If you’re in the “First Access Club” the DLC is free,but if you’re like most others it will cost you $10 or 800MS Points.
Duke Nukem Forever might not have been a smash hit but at least Gearbox recognize that it should have been. The studio behind Duke’s return now want to know what you thought about Duke Nukem Forever. Eurogamer report that Gearbox have a limited-time survey out now to get feedback about various areas of the game.
Gearbox has released a patch for the PC version of Duke Nukem Forever. CVG reports that the dedicated servers have been overhauled and various graphical and performance updates and a four-weapon inventory system have been implemented.
I’m sure there are some that will be completely indifferent to the news of Duke Nukem Forever DLC, but at least there’s a sense of humour about the DLC, which is more than can be said for most games these days. And anyway, at least this time you can’t complain you waited “forever” for more Duke…
Duke Nukem Forever was greeted with some venomous reviews this past week or so, and to be fair it is a disappointment after the long wait (read our review here), but that has not stopped Take Two from stating that the game was simply the beginning for some new Duke.
In short: Fifteen years we’ve waited. In that time we’d given up hope and found new thrills and thought The Duke would never return. Fifteen years. You’d have thought that in that amount of time he would’ve arrived a little more ‘refined’.
