Crysis 2 | Double XP Weekend

To celebrate the holiday season, EA is boosting the XP you earn in Crysis 2 multiplayer to double (yes, double!) the usual amount. The double XP kicks off on 16 December at 12pm GMT/4am PST and runs until 19 December (11am GMT/3am PST) across all three formats (PC, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3). [Source]

Crysis 2 | Ultra Upgrade Released for PC

EA and Crytek have released the Crysis 2 ‘Ultra Upgrade’, giving PC gamers full DirectX 11 support. The ‘Ultra Upgrade’ is said to deliver higher quality visuals and features including tessellation, water rendering improvements, high quality HDR motion blur, and many other special effects and higher quality texture formats with the optional high res texture pack.

Or as they’re calling it: “The DX11 Ultra Upgrade”.  It’s apparently weighing in at over 2GB, but is a “free visual improvement add-on introducing DirectX 11 support as well as a wealth of graphical improvements and performance optimization for both DX11 and DX9 API’s.”

Also announced was that PC users can download the game’s Map Editor Pack free-of-charge on Wednesday from MyCrysis.
