I Would So Have Rocked Boy Scouts If I Were a Yank

boy scoutIt just goes to show the world we are living in now. The Boy Scouts of America has created a new award category *drum roll please*: Videogames. All the boy scout association have adopted these new awards where the little troopers can now earn a Videogame Belt Loop and/or Videogame Academic Pin by completing requirements that include, unbelievably, playing videogames.

The Videogame Belt Loop requires scouts to learn about the ESRB rating system, create and follow a schedule that includes chores, homework, and videogames, and learn to play a new videogame approved by a parent, guardian, or teacher.

To earn the Academic Pin, scouts must first be awarded the Videogame Belt Loop and then complete a number of tasks, including comparing two different game systems in a written paper, playing a videogame with family members in a family tournament, teaching an adult or friend how to play a game, and writing a paper listing tips on how to succeed at your favorite videogame.
