The PC version of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 will not support Windows XP, as the engine has been upgraded to DirectX 11. As a result, the operating systems that the PC version of Black Ops II will support are Windows Vista and Windows 7.

The PC version of Black Ops 2 will now feature “enhanced lighting, shadows, anti-aliasing, bloom, depth of field, ambient occlusion and other enhanced effects that are still in the works.”

Eurogamer are reporting on a FAQ section on the game’s website which reveals:

“The game can run at higher resolutions and higher frame-rates on the PC.”

DirectX 11 more efficiently uses the processing power of a graphics card, too, which benefits “the entire range of supported GPUs”.

The performance has also “significantly improved”, and there will be more quality vs. performance options to play around. .

Minimum system requirements are:

  • CPU: Intel Core2 Duo E8200 2.66 GHz or AMD Phenom X3 8750 2.4 GHz
  • RAM: 2GB for 32-bit OS or 4GB for 64-bit OS
  • GPU: Nvidia GeForce 8800GT 512 MB or ATI Radeon HD 3870 512 MB
