2K Games has announced that the free – yes, you read right, free – co-op multiplayer mode for Spec Ops: The Line is available for download on Xbox LIVE, PSN (US we assume, with Europe tomorrow) and PC.

The co-op mode brings new “objective-based cooperative multiplayer scenarios” to Dubai after a “series of cataclysmic sandstorms have wrecked the city.”  The content  includes four missions, each of which feature their own unique objectives, environments and playable characters.  Fight hordes – sorry, waves – of enemies to complete their objectives.  The mode “emphasizing teamwork and utilizing a variety of weapons and explosives.”

We quite liked the game and if you needed any more convincing to get it, maybe this is it.
