“Multiple sources” are now claiming that the *deep breath* Xbox Next/720/Loop/Ten/Durango will hit shelves in the Christmas 2013 period and will come with Blu-ray, 2 GPUs and always-on internet…
VG247 is citing the “multiple sources” who claim that the next-gen console will come with Sony’s Blu-ray format and two GPUs which will not be CrossFire or SLI, but function independently of each other. The GPU’s are reportedly equivalent to AMD’s 7000 series GPUs and is being described as “like two PCs taped together”.
It is also claimed that the machine will also have “four or six” CPU cores with one dedicated to Kinect – which will be built into the hardware. One CPU core will also be used for the console’s operating system. Always-on internet connection will be required which will be how the crack down on piracy will be handled.
