Look carefully, there might be an assassin lurking there somewhere...

A source working “close” to the next Assassin’s Creed game has told CVG that the game will be set in the American Revolution.  This insider has also claimed that the game will make its debut appearance before 31 March – Ubisoft’s fiscal year end.

The American Revolution – and America – is not completely unexpected as an Ubisoft survey did offer it as an option last year as: “The confrontation between British colonists and native Americans during The American Revolution.”

Furthermore, an American setting was first hinted in Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood’s ‘Da Vinci Disappearance’ DLC, when co-ordinates leading to New York State appeared and has since been followed by another hint at the end of Assassin’s Creed Revelations when a futuristic globe hovered over the USA.

It would be interesting to see which side of the fence the new protagonist is most likely to sit, but for now this is only speculation.
