KGB Logo_SmallYes, admittedly, this feature has been on an unexpectedly long bout of leave, but it’s back. As often as it possibly can be. Or as often as Undead Ed can convince clans and their members he doesn’t plan to bite them. Much.

This week we would like to introduce you to PC clan and gaming community known as KGB Gaming.

Hello. Introduce yourself to the readers. Go on.

We are an open community and our intention is first and foremost to bring the gaming community closer together. We are at the heart of it all and gamers know that with us they can always get a good game. Our privately owned TeamSpeak channel is open to any player who would like to play side-by-side with other KGB Gaming Community members and it also serves as a platform where new KGB candidates are evaluated.

KGB Gaming aim to be a social and active Community, and we also heavily encourage a positive atmosphere based on respect, communication, teamwork, friendship, and a feeling to treat each other with kindness. Unless you earn the right for us to name you a jerk, every single person deserves to be treated nicely, therefor we have a full house of administrators to help and respond to any and all queries.

When did the clan form?

KGB Gaming was formed in the 3rd quarter of 2011. KGB Artapel always envisioned the idea of building a Gaming community. Most of the players have been together since they joined KGB Shortly after KGB Gaming spawned (Formed). We are on 3 years now and we are growing bigger and bigger every week.

What is your platform (or platforms) of choice?

Most of our members use PC as their platform of choice but we are not limited to PC. We also have members who play on console and PC.

What games does the clan enjoy?

We play any game you can bring to the table. Primarily we like to play Battlefield 3, Battlefield 4 and League of Legends. We also enjoy Dota 2, Left 4 Dead 2, Command and Conqueror, Star wars, Call of Duty, Minecraft, Borderlands, Team Fortress and the list goes on.

How was the clan’s name chosen?

KGB Artapel was looking for a catchy Clan tag. And there are few other Clan tags that make an impression like “KGB”. KGB Used to stand for “Kort Gat Bliksems” but as we became serious we decided to change it to Knowledgeable Gaming Board.

Who are the leaders of the clan and what is the clan’s organisational structure like?

KGB Artapel is the Founder and Head Leader of KGB Gaming. Our Vise Leaders are KGB J3stie and KGB Superfly. Our Head admins are KGB Pkyrime and KGB Bullistic.

We also have normal Admins, Junior Admins, DJ Admins and Clan Leaders.

How many members do you have? Keen to give out their names, credit card details and ID numbers?

How often do you play together as a clan?

Every Single day. There might be a day every now and then where everyone is busy with something and we are too little to play on a server but that rarely happens.

Do you consider yourselves a competitive clan, or one in it more for “the shits and giggles”?

We do both. We have a competitive 1st team and the rest of us just plays for fun. This is true for battlefield 3. We have 3 Competitive teams for League of Legends and a heck load of players that just play for the fun of it. I am very proud to announce that two of our players are taking part on the DGL Competition this year.

Has the clan participated in many tournaments? Which? Won any?

This year is the first year that KGB will enter under its KGB Gaming name. We have played lots of Clannies against other clans before.

Is attending LANs important to the clan and its members?

We always try to attend a LAN but as many of our players are still young they do not have the transport to get there and back. The older players now do not have the time to spend at a LAN.

Are you guys actively recruiting for new players? If so, how should a potential member contact you and how do you decide on who is right to join you?

We will always have a spot for gamers on our community. Anyone is welcome as long as you adhere to the rules. The KGB Gaming clan itself is actively recruiting players for battlefield 4 and Battlefield 3.

What are you hoping to achieve in the future as a clan?

We would like to be a household name in the homes where gamers find themselves in. We would like to sponsor peripherals to our winning teams and we would like to make any server for any game available to every single gamer.

Which opposing clan(s) do you most respect?

We respect every single clan out there. Every single one deserved the right to be respected and we all believe in one sport. Although we do not fear a single one, but always look up to other clans as they always strive to achieve more as we do.

In regards to professional – or competitive gaming (or even gaming in general) – what do you as a clan think needs to be done to raise the profile of South African gaming?

Firstly I think our infrastructure needs to be improved and costs involved in gaming needs to be lowered. This will enable more individuals to enter the gaming market and improve in the sport they love. Secondly we need to get the word out there that there are Communities like KGB Gaming that provides an Online home to ANYONE who is looking for friends online.

Some fun stuff

If you weren’t a gaming clan you’d be…

Playing Call of Duty like a noob.

War movie that best describes the clan?

World War Z

If you guys had a music soundtrack for going to war, what would it be?

Will think about this one…

Thanks for your time – is there anything you would like to add before you head off?

Yes. I would like to thank you for actually taking time to sit and write down these questions. [No. Thank you for taking the time to answer the questions – Undead Ed]
