EGE (Electronics & Gaming Expo) is back this year and it hits Cape Town on 29 to 31 July 2016. Of course, you’re probably wondering what year two will bring to top the first event last year, and I suppose the word ‘more’ is what would best some things up.
Last year saw the event bring cosplay, board gaming, exhibitors, gamers and eSports together, and this year will be no different. However, most of those elements will be bigger and better (and detailed soon), but one brand new addition that has been revealed is the bring-your-own PC (and/or console too if you like) LAN area.
For those hungering for an overnight LAN experience with like-minded souls, the EGE LAN is for you. Tickets will cost R400 per person and the LAN is limited to 400 seats. The R400 gets you access to a high speed internet connection in the CTICC, the ability to enjoy over 50 hours of gaming (or watching movies – or even socialising – if you prefer), as well as access to the exhibition itself.
EGE LAN attendees can also expect a number of mini-tournaments throughout the weekend and of course there will be goodies up for grabs thanks to ASUS South Africa. Details will follow soon, but it looks like the LAN event will be one not to miss.

Please note: The eSports component of EGE is a separate component and will be detailed elsewhere.
