R15,000 in the Mettlestate CASTAR Competition

Budding casters looking for their ‘break’ have until 14 July 2017 to get their entries in for the Mettlestate CASTAR competition.

Up for grabs is a cool R15,000 and a “guaranteed contract job at the next Mettlestate Major competition relevant to their game title of choice.”

If you are already a casting duo you can submit your double team commentary too but you will have to share the spoils.

To enter the competition you must be a caster who has not been paid to work before in South Africa. You must also be over the age of 18, willing to commentate over the game of your choice and “allow Mettlestate the option to share said demo and/or footage on their various social channels.”

If you meet that criteria, then you can email a link to your demo recording (which must be no shorter than 45 seconds and uploaded to YouTube) to casting@mettlestate.com.

From there, the top 10 demos selected by the judges will be shared on Mettlestate social media for a public vote, which will be “taken into consideration” when the judging panel (selected by Mettlestate) makes its final decision.

The finalists in the top 10 will also need  to submit a headshot and bio when requested to do so.

So, if you’re looking to get into esports in South Africa or simply want to change direction within the industry, here is what many call a ‘golden opportunity’. So get recording and get submitting and maybe you will get to winning.
