**UPDATE**
The event has been pushed out by a week to 12 April due to the venue double booking.
**ORIGINAL STORY**
The last 2upGamers may have only happened just over a week ago, but let’s be honest – it probably feels like a lifetime already. Fear not, people of the Cape, your favourite social gaming night out returns on 5 April, and will be happening again at the Trinity venue which blew so many minds.
So what can be expected on the first Friday of April? A good time obviously. And a little more.
The event will once again offer a wide variety of casual and competitive gaming to go along with food, drink and good folks, having the prescribed good time.
First up, will be the reintroduction of the competitive LAN setup, and it will feature Black Ops 2. This will be a free-for-all affair, and will hopefully come packed with a prize or two. The Black Ops 2 LAN will be operated by something called Zombiegamer and will be run on Xbox 360.
On top of that, we can already confirm that the next LAN (in May) will feature Gears of War Judgment, so get your chainsaws revved.
Staying with the competitive side of things, the Liquid Blast FIFA 13 Cup will be on hand and will feature prizes for first, second and third in the form of cash sponsored by Liquid Blast. The FIFA 13 Cup will be operated by the chaps from eGamer and will be a PS3 event.
Mweb Gamezone will once again host a little good time racing. Dubbed the ‘Mweb Gamezone Celeb Challenge’, you will race against – you guessed it – celebrities for your share of around R3000 in prizes. The racing will happen on Xbox 360 and will be Forza 4 on the Top Gear track.
If you only want to have a good time and look good (or silly) while doing so, then not to worry, you can do so by dancing in front the crowd with either Dance Central or Just Dance (title to be confirmed). There will be another dance off, so get your dancing shoes warmed up.
Guitar Hero and other “hero” types will be able to show off their vocal, guitar and drum skills too, and there may even be more to do, but some (cosplay, Core as guest speakers and some fighting games – don’t tell anyone I told you) are still to be confirmed.
So, maybe just clear Friday the 5th of April in your calendar. We’re pretty sure 2upGamers will be better than anything else you could possibly have planned.
